AOD-9604 is a synthetic analog of human growth hormone (hGH) developed to study lipid metabolism and energy regulation. It represents a modified fragment of hGH (amino acids 176–191), also known as GH Fragment 176–191 or AOD-9604.

A distinctive feature of AOD-9604 is the addition of a tyrosine residue at the N-terminus, replacing the first amino acid of the native sequence. This modification enhances peptide stability and bioavailability in biological systems.

Mechanism of Action:

Stimulates lipolysis (fat breakdown) and suppresses lipogenesis (fat formation) through activation of adipose-tissue mechanisms, including β₃-adrenergic receptor pathways.
Unlike full-length hGH, AOD-9604 specifically targets fat metabolism without increasing IGF-1 levels or promoting general growth hormone effects.
